AFM Granite Signs Error Corrections Notice of Sole Source Award FA706025P0021

The AFM currently has two (2) granite signs in place that used specific granite procured through the contractor, Lorton Stone, LLC. The contractor has residual granite slabs left from the original project that will serve as an exact match to the current project. Additionally, the contractor created custom font on this project and retained the font graphics in queue for future use. Market research revealed that other companies did not have access to the granite material required for this project. The work must be precise and match the existing granite panels in order to seamlessly portray the memorial as a whole and meet the mission intent to honor those that served. Lorton Stone, LLC is deemed the only responsible source, based on the circumstances of this requirement that is capable of fulfilling the requirement.
