Summary

AI-generated · Aug 27, 2025

Replace and refurbish one molded-case circuit breaker at the VA Medical Center Newington. The work includes testing, inspecting, and replacing the breaker case and the associated trip unit, with a single line-item quote request for the replacement package (breaker case and trip unit). The procurement is set aside for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, and quotes are requested through an RFQ process rather than a separate solicitation document.

A subsequent Q&A clarifies that two breakers are involved: the first breaker must be replaced because the support bracket is damaged and cannot be racked out; it uses Eaton MDN4083XEA0552N (K600-AR-600NM frame, 480V, Digitrip 520, 250A trip). The second breaker also requires its trip unit replacement and will need a temporary unit to keep CT scanners operational until the trip unit is rebuilt, as downtime is not acceptable. Each breaker must include a testing report via secondary injection testing to verify functionality; additional information (catalog numbers and photos) may be requested.
