Using Eco Analysts, LLC. for zooplankton analysis is necessary to ensure that the District's water quality sampling data sets remain comparable and compatible with those of cooperating agencies engaged in long-term studies of Pacific Northwest surface waters. The technical evaluation criteria of the PWS specifically, the contractor's analytical methods for biological unit counts and zooplankton identification level, as well as demonstrated regional experience were developed with the recognition that deviating from established methodologies mid-study introduces unacceptable data discontinuity.
