Summary

AI-generated · Aug 23, 2025

Repair and upgrade fire and smoke doors at Fayetteville VA Medical Center (Buildings 1 and 3). Scope covers repairing or replacing doors and frames to meet specified fire ratings for multiple rooms, installing or re-certifying labels, and upgrading hardware (closers, panic bars, locksets, maglocks, vision lites, and wave-to-open sensors). Some exterior/interior doors require demolition and new doors/frames with outward egress, new weatherstripping and thresholds, and reconnected access control (card readers, maglocks) with updated controllers and air curtains. Interior walls affected by demolition must be refinished to match existing. Work must comply with VA specifications, infection-control guidelines, and applicable codes; labeling must be metal and verifiable rather than stickers. Construction should minimize space disruption, with after-hours work for demolition and construction and potential exceptions. A site walkthrough is strongly recommended, a VA Locksmith will assist onsite, and contractor badges will be issued. The project is anticipated for completion within 150 calendar days of the Notice to Proceed, with regular bi-weekly progress meetings and weekly meetings after material delivery.

Record 2 indicates an upcoming RFQ process for the same project, detailing a single firm-fixed-price contract with an estimated value of $100,000–$250,000 and a 150-day construction window, subject to material lead times. A site visit (one) will be scheduled, and offers are expected roughly 30 days after solicitation; bidders must be registered in SAM and ensure representations and certifications are current. All solicitation information and amendments will be posted on SAM, with inquiries directed to the contracting activity. Record 3 provides responses to questions regarding the RFQ and notes that awards listed show $0.00, indicating the procurement is still in solicitation/clarification stages and no award amount has been established.
