Summary

AI-generated · Aug 24, 2025

Replace the nurse call system at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System in Richmond, VA. The contract requires a qualified construction firm to provide all labor, materials, transportation, equipment, and supervision to upgrade/replace the nurse call and code blue system, including demolition, architectural, structural, electrical, electronics/security, telecommunications, and healthcare technology work. The project covers hardware/software upgrades, user terminals, patient room devices, notification/signaling devices, and the supporting data infrastructure, to be implemented in phases that minimize outages and in strict accordance with VA drawings and specs. A HillRom-brand solution is being considered as the preferred option, and the work is anticipated to be 100% SDVOSB-set aside, with bids from SDVOSB firms only and VetCert verification required for eligibility; an Invitation for Bid is expected, with approximately a 30-day solicitation response window, and a project magnitude of roughly $5–10 million.

The notices indicate ongoing presolicitation activity and a sources-sought phase to identify capable firms, with RFI responses provided via amendments and a date extension for responses. The government may use the information to determine procurement strategy and set-aside eligibility; future solicitations will be posted on the Government Point of Entry, and responses to the sources-sought notice are voluntary. A market-survey process has requested capabilities statements and recommendations on alternative domestic nurse-call options that meet or exceed HillRom capabilities, including supporting documentation.

The Department of Veterans' Affairs is seeking the services of a qualified construction company to provide all labor, material, transportation, equipment, and qualified supervision required for the following project: Replace Nurse Call System. Located at: Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS), 1201 Broad Rock Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia, 23249. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (SEE THE ATTACHMENTS FOR DETAILS).
