Summary

AI-generated · Dec 09, 2025

Re-establish an interpretive overlook at Fort Smith National Historic Site to reflect its period of significance related to 19th-century Native American migration. The prior overlook was wiped out by river flooding, so the new landing will be placed along the riverfront with reduced flood risk and designed for greater resiliency through durable materials and structural methods to minimize long-term maintenance and loss. Scope includes selective site clearing, limited earthwork, pedestrian concrete pavement, fabrication of precast concrete structures with poured foundations, procurement of sign panel frames, installation of hardscape boulders, and landscape materials.

This is a market survey to gauge interest and capability of qualified contractors; it is not a solicitation or commitment to issue a procurement. Anticipated project magnitude is in the range of approximately $500,000 to $1,000,000. Prospective contractors should be small businesses, registered in SAM under the applicable category, and able to meet bonding considerations. Responses are voluntary and will inform future acquisition planning; any solicitation will be posted on SAM.gov. Respondents should submit their information by the stated deadline via email, with the project reference indicated in the subject line.
