PURPOSE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to award a firm fixed contract for Maintenance Dredging of the Maurice River, NJ. DESCRIPTION: The contract work will consist of Dredging the Maurice River federal channel from Station 0+500 to 10+000. Dredging will be required to clear shoaling of approximately 80,000 cubic yards and to maintain safe navigable depths to 8 ft MLLW plus 1-ft overdepth. The placement involving beneficial use and marsh restoration alternatives will be utilized in a designated placement site within the Heislerville State Wildlife Management Area. Dredging will be by hydraulic pipeline dredge. Containment measures may include turbidity curtains, coir logs and/or hay bales at the placement site. Dredging and placement is prohibited from 1 March to 30 September due to environmental restrictions. DISCLOSURE OF MAGNITUDE OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION PROJECT: $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
