Fabricate and deliver two 22-inch exhaust expansion joint assemblies for the USCGC Polar Star Main Propulsion Generator exhaust system. This work is fabrication and testing only (no on-site installation) and includes delivery to the USCGC Polar Star in Seattle, WA, with a Certificate of Conformance for each item. Assemblies must be made from new materials and strictly follow the government-furnished drawings and standards (including the 22-inch expansion joint drawing, STM F1120, and EJMA standards). Operating conditions specify a normal operating temperature of 900°F and a system design temperature of 1200°F; the joints must include a permanent data plate, a visible directional flow arrow, and shipping bars painted in a high-visibility color for transport, which must be removed after installation.

Quality and compliance requirements include adhering to the applicable drawings and standards, with any deviation requiring written government approval. Bellows welds must be examined by Liquid Penetrant Testing, and, per ASTM F1120, a pneumatic leak test may substitute for a hydrostatic test to protect the dry insulation pack. Packaging must prevent damage, contamination, and corrosion per ASTM F1120. If there is any discrepancy between the SOW and drawings, the contractor must seek clarification before proceeding.
