Train senior CGC Fir crew members so they can qualify others in operating and maintaining equipment used to support ATON missions, bringing the Yellow Gear Program up to standard. Tasks include training on forklift, man lift, and Bobcat operation; establishing safety protocols, daily inspections, and maintenance schedules for the cutter’s forklift, manlift, and Bobcat; training on proper weight handling and loading of sinkers, chain, and buoys; training on changing attachments; and delivering written final reports of the Tech Rep Visit, plus a final report with findings, documentation, and lessons learned for similar training.

On-site training will occur aboard CGC Fir in Cordova, Alaska, for up to five eight-hour days. The technicians will bring supporting documentation and training materials. A security requirement calls for providing the technician’s name and a reliable contact prior to arrival, and all visits will be coordinated through the cutter’s points of contact.
