All aerial ignition devices must meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards as well as the required safety modifications outlined in Chapter 6 and Appendix C (https://www.nwcg.gov/publications/501). The following are the only aerial ignition devices currently approved for interagency use by all cooperating natural resource agencies. Devices must be updated with current retrofits (reference Chapter 6 Reference Materials).
