Sole Source Determination The sole source determination is based on the following: The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) owns and operates a Quantum Opus 2.2K cryostat system. To perform planned research activities, NIST requires two SNSPDs for Quantum Networking Metrology that operate in the existing cryostat. The Quantum Opus 2.2K cryostat system is proprietary to its original equipment manufacturer, Quantum Opus, and no other contractor s SNSPD equipment will function with NIST s existing system. The SNSPD equipment must be purchased directly from Quantum Opus, Optoelectronic Components is the sales representative for Quantum Opus. No other sources are capable of requiring the SNSPD s NIST requires for use with its owned QuantumOpus 2.2K cryostat system.
