The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), through its Middle East District (SWM), is evaluating the ability of businesses to perform a comprehensive pavement repair by removal of 13,504 Square Meters (SM) of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement, to include transitions, and replace with modified-heavy load concrete pavement on the Touchdown 08 end of Runway 08/26. Pavement will support modified-heavy load aircraft landing operations. Repair shall include concrete extension of the touchdown zone to meet current mission-assigned platform requirements by replacing 13,354 SM of asphaltic concrete pavement of runway with PCC. Additionally, repair by replacement of threshold lighting infrastructure and those taxiways exit lighting infrastructure that are within the concrete touchdown. Work will include all necessary airfield markings on the touchdown zone. In addition, the Contractor will be responsible for the work associated with the Aircraft Arresting System (AAS) Absorber Shelters. This project will comply with applicable International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. *****This announcement seeks information from industry, which will be used for preliminary planning purposes.
