The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Hawaii is conducting market research to determine if other potential products/sources can provide for an aircraft hangar bay low level fire protection fixed foam solution discharge device that has the same requirements/specifications as the Grate Nozzle Model GN202, manufactured by The Viking Corporation, 210 N Industrial Park Drive, Hastings, MI 49058. The alternate product/source must meet the following requirements/specifications: 1. Comply with UFC 4-021-01 Aircraft Maintenance Hangars (latest version). 2. Comply with NFPA 11, Standard for Low-, Medium, and High-Expansion Foam (latest Edition). 3. UL listed or FM approved for foam extinguishing systems using synthetic fluorine free foam (SFFF). 4. Provide low level fire protection in aircraft hangers for protection against an aircraft fuel spill fire by discharging low level foam solution using 360 degree, 180 degree, and 90 degree spray patterns with a minimum throw of 25 feet discharged from a stainless steel nozzle installed flush with the hanger bay floor and integrated into an epoxy coated ductile iron grated trench cover.
