Summary

Identify and assess manufacturers capable of producing the Induction Compass Transmitter, T-611, for UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft. This sources sought is intended to gauge industry capability and interest in supplying this component.

This is a Sources Sought announcement to locate sources for the manufacture of the Induction Compass Transmitter (T-611A), NSN: 6605-00-531-2992, part number 664543C. The T-611A is the direction sensing component of the ASN-43 compass set. The sensing element is pendulously mounted so that its average position is in the horizontal component of the earth’s magnetic field and is normally maintained in that position regardless of air turbulence or aircraft attitude. The T-611A detects the direction of lines of force in this horizontal magnetic component and transmits this information electrically to the gyro in the compass set. The information is used to position the gyro for long periods of stabilization of the system. The T-611A is located in the wing or body of the aircraft. It is a single, sealed unit with a mounting flange for proper alignment in the aircraft. The sealed unit is black in color with three holes in its cover for mounting the flux compensator. The bottom of the sealed unit is round in shape. The mounting flange is an aluminum ring approximately 1.5 inches wide with three mounting slots, and has component information engraved in it. The systems are for use in the Army fleet of UH-60 Blackhawk aircraft, and are essential to successful, safe missions. The T-611A meets current FAA regulations. The Government does not possess the technical data (drawings or specifications) package (TDP) that completely defines form, fit and function of these units. As such, the TDP is not available for release. Any sources capable of manufacturing these units must indicate so by writing to: U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) ATTN: Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) Combat Aviation Power Directorate (CAPD) AMEL-LSW-ES 6590 Reconnaissance Street Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005 Any response must also show that the products will be able to obtain airworthiness certification and will perform satisfactorily when used for its intended purpose by the Army. Requested Response Information: Sources that can provide the manufacturing services sought are requested to submit information to show their capability to supply the same or similar services. At a minimum, information submitted should include but is not limited to the following types of documentation: Questionnaire responses, drawings, test results, information on previous Government and commercial contracts, data rights, etc. In your response, please include your company name, CAGE code, and a technical point of contract with email address and telephone number. Notice, Response Due Date, and Points of Contact: This is NOT a Request for Quote or Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought Announcement (SSA) or reimburse any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this SSA. This SSA is for planning and market research purposes only, and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government.
