AI-generated · Oct 08, 2025

Supply slip ring assemblies and brush blocks used to sustain the ASR-9 radar’s rotary joints at field sites. The rotary joint supports six RF paths and 20 slip ring connections, with two position sensors providing azimuth data—critical for normal ASR-9 operation. Only FAA-approved part numbers may be used: Slip Ring Assemblies (MOOG Components Group Limited P/N D1619-100P1) and Brush Blocks (MOOG P/N LQ4014-2 or Frontgrade Technologies Inc. P/N D1619-100P2).

This is a Blanket Ordering Agreement solicitation, with quantities to be determined and awarded through delivery orders under H.1. Proposals must be full and open competition and submitted per Section L, with SAM registration required. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) has a requirement for the acquisition of slip ring assemblies and brush blocks for sustainment of rotary joints in the Airport Surveillance Radar Model 9 (ASR-9) field radar sites. The rotary joint comprises six rf paths and 20 slip ring connections that electrically interface the rotating antenna with the stationary pedestal. Two position sensors in the rotary joint provide azimuth data to the system. The rotary joint is crucial to the operation of the ASR-9. Only proposals for the following part numbers will be accepted. CLIN 00001 NSN 5999-01-442-3976 Slip Ring Assemblies MOOG Components Group Limited P/N: D1619-100P1 and CLIN 00002 NSN 5999-01-423-0729 Brush Blocks MOOG Components Group Limited P/N: LQ4014-2 or Frontgrade Technologies Inc. P/N: D1619-100P2 These part numbers are the only FAA-approved version to be used in the ASR-9 radar. The FAA does not have rights in specifications or drawings to provide to vendors. It is anticipated that multiple Blanket Ordering Agreements (BOA) will be issued to support this requirement. Please see clauses G.1 DELIVERY ORDER PROCESSING - MULTIPLE AWARD BLANKET ORDERING AGREEMENTS and H.1 ORDERING PROCEDURES for information as to how the delivery order process will be conducted under the BOAs. This solicitation is for Blanket Ordering Agreements (BOA). The precise quantities of slip ring assemblies and brush blocks required are unknown and will be ordered as needed with the issuance of delivery orders in accordance with clause H.1 ORDERING PROCEDURES. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and size standards for this effort is NAICS 335312, Motor and Generator Manufacturing. Size Standard 1,250 Employees. Full-and-open competition will be utilized for this requirement. Please read the attached solicitation in its entirety. Follow the instructions outlined in Section L for submitting a responsive proposal. Proposals are due by EMAIL ONLY to connie.m.houpt@faa.gov by November 7, 2025, 2:00 PM, Central Time.
