Summary

AI-generated · Apr 21, 2026

Maintenance and repair services for the Zeiss LSM 880 confocal microscope with Airyscan 2 used by the National Institute on Aging, requiring expert, Zeiss-trained technicians to perform preventative maintenance, safety and operation inspections, and necessary adjustments, plus hardware and software upgrades. The contract is sole-source to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, because the equipment is proprietary and only Zeiss can provide the required service and parts; the work includes on-site support with all required parts provided by Zeiss (which may be new or rebuilt) and coverage of all needed labor and travel.

Contractor responsibilities include supplying all necessary personnel, materials, equipment, and facilities to perform the maintenance and repair as specified, while the government provides on-site workspace, computers, and phones. Deliverables include written quarterly repair and maintenance reports. The effort is for a fixed-price acquisition with on-site service at the government facility, and the supplier must be Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC.
