The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO 21) is soliciting information from contractors that can provide solid waste collection services for the VA Sierra Nevada HealthCare System. From Sources Sought posted on Aug 29, 2025PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office (NCO 21) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price, base plus four (4) option year contract to Reno Disposal Co, SAM UEI GV2JUTRZWNU3 at VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) located at 975 Kirman Ave, Reno, NV 89502. Reno Disposal Co has the only franchise agreement for waste/recycling collection with the City of Reno. This is an intent to sole source notice for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. This announcement constitutes the only notice of intent to sole source and synopsis of the proposed action. The solicitation for this action will be posted to Contract Opportunities, and all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. After consideration, the Government will determine whether to proceed with the sole source acquisition. The requirement is to perform the requirements of collecting, removing and disposing of solid waste (non-hazardous materials), regulated medical waste (RMW), and recyclable materials . The estimated Period of Performance will be 12/1/2025 11/30/2030. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government's requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the Contracting Officer within seven (7) calendar days of this publication by contacting Cynthia Diezel via email at Cynthia.diezel@va.gov.
