Purpose The Bureau of Reclamation is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing refuse and recycling collection services at New Melones Lake, Glory Hole Recreation Area, Calaveras County, California. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government. ________________________________________ 2. Background The Government requires refuse and recycling services to support public health, sanitation, and safe operations across federally managed recreation areas. Services occur at geographically dispersed locations within the Glory Hole Recreation Area (campgrounds, day-use areas, boat ramps, and support facilities). Solid waste collection within Calaveras County is subject to a county administered franchise system (Calaveras County Ordinances 2510 and 2817, Title 08 Health and Safety, Chapter 8.12). The Government understands that California Waste Recovery Systems, LLC is currently authorized under the county franchise to provide solid waste collection and disposal services within the applicable service area.
