The South Dakota National Guard has a requirement for wrestling mats. **Wrestling Mat Specifications: The required wrestling mat system shall meet the following physical dimensions, performance standards, and graphic specifications: I. The surface shall be a tough, smooth vinyl backed with nonwoven polyester for maximum strength and comfort, bonded using an advanced technique ensuring the surface will never require reconditioning. The material must be non-hardening, non-shrinking, noncracking, and non-tearing. Hygiene: The vinyl mat surface shall be treated with an infused biocidal additive registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under FIFRA (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act) to provide antibacterial properties. Maintenance: The final construction must be easy to clean and maintain. Compliance: All materials and construction must adhere strictly to industry standards ASTM F1081 Type 1 and ASTM F355. III.
