SYNOPSIS: This Sources Sought Announcement is to assist the US Army DEVCOM Soldier Center to identify potential sources to provide a Mesh Knit Cloth conforming to MC-PD-25-006. The Government requests that responses be submitted electronically to Mary Prebensen, mary.k.prebensen.civ@army.mil, and Trevor Scott, trevor.h.scott.civ@army.mil by July 21, 2025 by 5pm EST. Background: The Government (DEVCOM Soldier Center) is interested in implementing potential updates to the current mesh knit cloth used in the USMC Cold Weather (CW) Baselayers conforming to MIL-DTL-32740, and MIL-DTL-32741. The purpose of this RFI is to gather industry feedback regarding the ability to meet the requirements listed in MC-PD-25-006 to ensure manufacturability prior to applying specification updates. Description: Mesh knit cloth material updates include increased material stretch, weight, thickness, and aperture size. Specification changes are meant to enhance material performance by increasing moisture transport, air permeability, and insulation via micro air pockets. If increased stretch is achieved, end item patterns will be modified to allow for a closer fitting garment resulting in improved fit and comfort. Specific Specifications: Requesting industry s feedback regarding the ability to meet the requirements listed in MC-PD-25-006. For potential use in end items conforming to MIL-DTL-32740 (Drawers, Mesh, CW Baselayer), and MIL-DTL-32741 (Undershirt, Mesh, CW Baselayer). Deliverables: Company name, address, and point of contact information. Two (2) yard sample, at no cost to the government, with attached material description to include fiber content, construction and weight. If more than 1 sample is submitted, request that the benefits of each submission are noted. A micro purchase request for additional yardage may be requested within 60 days for testing purposes after initial review. Corresponding physical test data; requirements listed in Table I of MC-PD-25-006. Estimated price per yard with identification of full width. Verification that the fiber, components, and materials are Berry Amendment compliant. If unable to meet all physical requirements, alternate samples will be accepted for review. In addition to the above deliverables, request documentation describing which physical requirements have not been met and any benefits provided by the deviation. Delivery Date: The Government anticipates 2 months lead time for this item. Please identify timeframe required for delivery. Interested parties are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Announcement.
