Summary

AI-generated · Apr 02, 2026

Automated transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) probe cleaner/disinfector system that can perform fully automated pre-cleaning, cleaning, and high-level disinfection in a single unit, without any manual steps outside the system. The device must be FDA-cleared for automated reprocessing of TEE probes, be fully compatible with Philips TEE probe platforms now in use and planned for future deployment, and support one standardized reprocessing workflow for all TEE probes without requiring parallel manual or semi-automated processes. It must employ a validated enzymatic cleaning process as part of the automated cycle, provide repeatable, validated cleaning and disinfection cycles to meet infection prevention standards for semi-critical devices, minimize direct probe handling to reduce cross-contamination, and support high-volume clinical operations. The solution should be commercially available with manufacturer-supported installation, service, and consumables as part of a complete and validated reprocessing system.
