Summary

AI-generated · Apr 10, 2026

USCG seeks information from qualified developers/builders about a potential direct-lease with option to purchase housing in Juneau, Alaska to accommodate eligible Coast Guard personnel and families. The project envisions 61 units: 27 three-bedroom, 21 four-bedroom, 10 two-bedroom, and 3 one-bedroom homes, with 10% of the three- and four-bedroom units ADA compliant. The lease would run for one year with up to four option years, and the purchase option would be exercised in the second year; leasing would be at full market rate for each extension. Preference is for all units to be co-located in a single subdivision within a larger community, but alternatives will be considered, and the units must meet HUD Housing Quality Standards, be close to support services (within 15–20 miles), and have contiguous occupancy with easements for access to utilities and roads.

Respondents should provide floor plans, square footage, amenities, upgrade options, electrical and plumbing specifications, and any disclosure requirements. The government may consider expanding to up to 130 units in the future and may award to multiple developers; coordination with the City and Borough of Juneau on land opportunities is optional. This RFI is non-binding and responses are not offers; if a competitive solicitation is issued, it will be posted on SAM.gov.
