The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation 15B40126Q00000009 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Repair Glycol Loop Exchanger, at the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) located in Chicago, Illinois. MCC Chicago is a Federal Correctional Facility located at 71 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The work to be performed in association with this project includes the following scope: The Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago has a construction requirement for repairing the Glycol Loop Exchanger. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor for the complete repair to the existing Hybrid Fluid Cooler (Model NXF-0603N-CS2TT -J2 / Nexus TM Modular Hybrid Cooler), 2 Pumps with VFDs, and pipework installed throughout the 27-story high-rise to feed 14 heat pump cooling units. This Glycol Loop, and all components, were installed in 2018. The BAC Tower consists of 2 cells; each cell has an exchanger. The two exchangers have small seam leaks that do not allow the pressure to reach the designed pressure of 150 PSI. Both exchangers need to be repaired at MCC Chicago. The performance period for the project will be 435 calendar days from the issuance of the notice to proceed.
