Summary

AI-generated · Jul 14, 2026

NIST is seeking industry input to determine the availability and capability of providers to supply a QNet Amplifier Pump—a low-noise, tunable, high-power, single-frequency microwave synthesizer capable of generating tones up to 16 GHz—for the NIST Boulder site. This is market research (sources sought) to help plan the acquisition strategy and is not a solicitation or commitment. Delivery, installation, and training are anticipated to occur within about 21 weeks after order.

Respondents should review the attached draft requirements/specifications and submit feedback by the closing date. Submissions must include a cover page with identifiers, company information, unique entity ID, points of contact, and evidence of SAM registration and company size status; indicate whether the firm has an active federal contract or a GSA schedule; and indicate whether the firm can comply with FAR 52.219-14 if the procurement were set-aside for small business. Provide suggestions to improve the draft requirements and evaluation factors, and include any standard commercial pricing information if available. If bidding as a team, provide information for each entity. Responses must be in Word or PDF, 12-point font, up to ten pages, and are voluntary with no obligation; NIST may follow up for more information and may issue a solicitation later on SAM.gov or GSA eBuy depending on the acquisition strategy.
