Summary

AI-generated · Aug 24, 2025

Construct 2.6 miles of flood-risk levees with about 111,600 cubic yards of fill and 1,500 feet of floodwalls to form Reach 6 along Corralitos Creek, part of the Pajaro River Levee System in the Watsonville area. Levees crest 2–8 feet with a minimum crest width of 20 feet and 3H:1V side slopes; an access road atop the levee will be surfaced with CalTrans Class 2 Aggregate Base. Structural features include 1,500 linear feet of floodwalls 6–9 feet high; the Highway 152 Bridge will be raised about 6 feet as a separate project. The project area covers roughly 10,000 acres across the lower Pajaro River watershed, spanning Santa Cruz and Monterey counties. Plans and specs are downloadable only from PIEE; bids must be submitted electronically through PIEE after SAM/PIEE registration; a Project Labor Agreement is included in the contract.

Amendments have added site-visit details, geotechnical reports, and schedules C–D plus a plan for a temporary no-work zone; wage determinations and subcontracting goals have been updated; revisions to Specifications 01 50 00 and 31 41 16 and RFIs responses have been provided. Bid openings have been extended through multiple amendments, and a later amendment adds an explicit 52.222-33 Notice of Requirement for Project Labor Agreement—Alternate I. A contractor site-visit sign-in sheet has been posted, and solicitation documents remain available only via PIEE (no hard copies).
