P732 Industry Day Event for Electrical Distribution System Upgrades Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth Virginia
Description
Electrical distribution system upgrades at Gosport Substation involve replacing and increasing the capacity of primary power transformers and distribution switchgear, linking to existing Main Site feeders to raise total system capacity to 168 MVA with three primary transformers, and modernizing the SCADA system. The project also includes replacing and upgrading the Gosport Industrial Transformers, circuit breakers, and relay control house (work to be performed by others), installing a climate-controlled stainless-steel switchgear house on an elevated platform at the Gosport Tie Station with new SCADA controls, and connecting primary feeders to a Backbone Ductbank. Demolition of two substation facilities (Buildings 1532 and 1702) and two microtunnel railroad crossings for electrical ductbanks are planned.
An Industry Day is planned for P732, with an industry flyer and questions to be discussed; the sources sought notices require respondents to read the full notice and answer a PLA questionnaire with yes/no responses and explanations. The two MILCON notices present the same scope, indicating no reported changes between them beyond the industry day activity.
Please P732 Industry Day Flyer and P732 Industry Day Questions.
