MILCON project P1241 constructs new communication towers and restores and modernizes existing communication towers on remote mountaintops or hilltops accessible only by helicopter and lacking any underground utilities such as electricity, water and sewer. It provides the installation s remote mountain range training area with: 1) the design and construction of four (4) new communication towers coordinated with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA); 2) the design and construction of the renovation or repairs of seven (7) existing communication towers; 3) the installation of NAVSEA-provided intermodal (ISO) freight container (CONEX) serving as communication equipment shelters; 4) the installation of supporting facilities for each tower; and 5) relocation and/or installation of communication components on the new and existing towers.
