Summary

AI-generated · Jan 17, 2026

Provide base plus four option years of storage and secure shredding services for sensitive patient-related imaging materials generated by RADIS/CC. Approximately 14,000 linear feet of film stored for over 20 years are currently maintained with Iron Mountain. This procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Subpart 13.5(a)) for commercial services, and no solicitation or quotations will be issued.

Because Iron Mountain is the current supplier and a recognized leader in secure records management, the government intends to award a sole-source contract to Iron Mountain for both storage and secure shredding of the materials. This is a notice of intent, not a bid, indicating no competitive process will be conducted.

This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. This procurement is for base plus 4 option years of storage and shredding services for sensitive patient-related materials generated by RADIS/CC as part of providing patient-related imaging services. Iron Mountain is the industry leader in records and information management of sensitive information including the secure shredding of sensitive information. RADIS/CC already has about 14,000 linear feet of film stored spanning over 20 years of exams with Iron Mountain. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, Subpart 13.5(a) This subpart authorizes the use of simplified procedures for the acquisition of supplies and services in amounts greater than the simplified acquisition threshold but not exceeding $9 million ($15 million for acquisitions as described in 13.500(c)), including options, if the contracting officer reasonably expects, based on the nature of the supplies or services sought, and on market research, that offers will include only commercial products or commercial services. Contracts awarded using FAR Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6-Competition Requirements.
