NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regular (FAR) Part 5.1 and 5.2. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract using FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services, under the simplified acquisition threshold. This is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals. The statutory authority for this notice is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) set forth in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Supervisor of Shipbuilding Overhaul & Repair, Groton, CT (SSGR) intends to award a firm fixed price contract to Illinois Tool Works, Inc. d/b/a E.H. Wachs, 600 Knightsbridge Pkwy., Lincolnshire, IL 60069, for the procurement of Industrial Pipe Cutting and Beveling Equipment. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement clearly demonstrating the ability to furnish the requested supply, before 07:00AM EST 14 JULY 25, which may be considered by the Agency for a future procurement. Responses to this notice shall be electronically submitted to Andrea Cook at Andrea.A.Cook.civ@us.navy.mil and Stephanie Neale at Stephanie.L.Neale.civ@us.navy.mil. The Government will not pay for any information received. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
