Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Crane Wheel Replacement N4425525R1508

This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) in Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, silverdale, WA intends to negotiate a non-competitive firm-fixed-price award to KoneCranes Nuclear Equipment & Services, LLC (KNES) for crane wheel replacement and alignment . The award will be a sole source procurement awarded to KNES in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations. Any potential sources other than KNES may submit a capability statement via electronic mail to Timothy Smart, Contracting Officer at timothy.s.smart.civ@us.navy.mil by 4 PM PT on Friday, July 25, 2025. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. Oral communications are not accepted in response to this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A solicitation will not be issued.
