Procurement targets a single-source award to OPTO 22 for Universal Monitoring and Control (UMAC) EPIC pre-configured processors, specifically the GRV-EPIC-PR2 processor, which includes FAA-specific modifications not available in standard commercial products. The groov EPIC System with the GRV-EPIC-PR2 processor was identified as the only approved PLC baseline for the UMAC across the ASR-8, ASR-9, and ASR-11 radar platforms.

Using any alternate PLC would require extensive engineering analysis, software redevelopment, testing, certification, and configuration management approval, creating significant cost, schedule, and technical risk. No other source is authorized to provide the approved modified configuration. This is an informational notice, not a solicitation or competitive opportunity; questions should be submitted in writing to the Contract Specialist.
