Summary

AI-generated · Aug 24, 2025

Procure Sea-Bird SBE16Plus V2 SEACat Moored CTD systems and spare parts; these items are exclusively manufactured and sold by Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc. due to proprietary rights and OEM data, certifications, and related constraints. The lab’s current CTDs are Sea-Bird products, so a new purchase would effectively require substantial subcontracting with the manufacturer. CTDs measure conductivity, temperature, and depth to characterize the environmental conditions in which marine mammal populations in the Bering and Chukchi seas develop, supporting studies on survival, reproduction, and population growth.

This notice is not a solicitation and no package is available, but firms may submit substantiating documentation within the stated window to support a competitive procurement decision. A Capability Statement from all responsible sources will be considered if received by the deadline, and it must demonstrate the ability to meet all requirements. All contractors must be registered in SAM; no award may be made to a non-SAM-registered entity. Submissions should be directed to the identified point of contact; oral inquiries are not accepted.

Sea-Bird Electronics Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer for the lab s current Sea-Bird CTDs. All design drawings, tolerance data, and installation criteria are their proprietary information. CTDs are used to measure environmental conditions in which marine mammal populations live and develop.
