An acquisition strategy is approved to solicit and negotiate with only one source, the Raytheon Company, in support of extending the ordering period for an additional three years through October 31, 2030, and increase the stated maximum value by $773.5M for a total of $2.246B. This would permit procurement of spares replenishment, and continuation of AN/TPY-2 development. The MDA has a requirement to develop, deploy, and sustain the Forward-Based Missile Defense System (MDS) requirements.
