The space should be about 12 ft by 10 ft with an 8 ft height and must sustain very high humidity (at least 95% RH for extended periods; with lights off the environment should still exceed 90% RH) and a temperature range of 15–40 C. Lighting must deliver roughly 1000 μmol/m2/s at 6 inches and be dimmable in 1% increments from 10% to 100%. The enclosure must hold dozens of plants of various sizes and support inoculation periods up to about 14 days. It should be brand-name or equal to Percival walk-in room MPR-912L1SW and include insulated walls/door, temperature, humidity, and lighting controls, plus a lighting mist generator to maintain humidity.
