The Loma Linda VA Healthcare System located at 11201 Benton Street, Loma Linda, CA 92357, is seeking a qualified contractor who can fulfill a requirement to provide comprehensive Laser Safety Program as well as continued Laser Safety Officer support. The scope includes an initial assessment, development of a written laser safety program, and delivery of customized training to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and VA-specific regulations. Continued support for licensing, compliance updates, audits, and technical guide. Construct a complete physical inventory of all lasers. Verify that only qualified and trained employees are assigned to install, adjust, and operate laser equipment. Verify that areas in which lasers are used are posted with standard laser warning placards. Verify that employees whose occupation or assignment requires exposure to laser beams are furnished with suitable laser safety goggles that will protect for the specific wavelength of the laser and be of optical density (OD) adequate for the energy involved. No Government equipment will be used by the Contractor. Important Information: The Government is not obligated to - nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources-sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The VA is mandated by Public Law 109-461 to consider a total set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set aside.
