FY26 USAFA DFBI Hyperbaric Chamber FY26_USAFA_DFBI_Hyperbaric_Chamber
Summary
AI-generated · Jun 11, 2026A capability statement is being sought from qualified vendors to provide, deliver, and install a hyperbaric chamber system for the USAFA Department of Biology. The chamber can be commercially available or a modified commercial unit and must include a dynamic O2 and CO2 gas-control system with O2 range 0.1%–99.9% (±1%), CO2 range 0.1%–20% (±1.5%), and 0.1% gas-resolution, plus a digital controller with a graphical interface, programmable profiles and multiple setpoints/cycles, a pod-based sensor that communicates with the gas controller, and bidirectional gas infusion for adjusting O2 and CO2 using O2/N2/CO2 gas sources with data logging.
The enclosure must be durable, built from polycarbonate and stainless steel, compatible with the gas controller, include two shelves (each at least 12.75" W x 10.25" D), and have overall dimensions no larger than 14" W x 13" D x 6" H; it should protect samples from ambient conditions and fit inside most third-party incubators. Vendors should submit a capability statement detailing corporate profile, business size and socioeconomic status, a description of hyperbaric chambers that meet or exceed the requirements (with spec sheets), relevant past performance on similar contracts, supply chain and lead times, and whether the product is available on a GSA MAS or other government contracts. Responses are to be emailed and must not exceed five pages, excluding specification sheets.
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: Hyperbaric Chamber System Notice Type: Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) Title: FY26 USAFA DFBI Hyperbaric Chamber NAICS Code: 339112 - Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing Product Service Code (PSC): 6515 - Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies 1.0 Introduction This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), or a promise to issue a formal solicitation in the future. The Department of War (DoW) is conducting market research to identify qualified and capable vendors, including small businesses (e.g., 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, Women-Owned), that can provide, deliver, and install a Hyperbaric Chamber System. The government intends to solicit a firm-fixed-price contract. Delivery is FOB destination to USAF Academy, CO 80840. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The website for registration is www.sam.gov. 2.0 Background and Requirement Description The US Air Force Academy has a requirement for a commercially available or modified-commercial Hyperbaric Chamber System to support the Dean of Faculty Department of Biology. The anticipated core requirements for the system include, but are not limited to: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: 1. Dynamic O2 and CO2 Controller with the following requirements: a. O2 Control Range: 0.1% - 99.9% with accuracy of 1% b. CO2 Control Range: 0.1% - 20% with accuracy of 1.5% c. Gas control resolution of 0.1% d. Digital Controller that displays process values and provides interface to control gas infusion e. Dynamic programming and profile creation enabling multiple setpoints, ranges and number of cycles f. Pod-based sensor that monitors/measures conditions within chamber (discussed below) and communicates to the gas controller to maintain desired gas concentrations g. Connections for O2, N2 and CO2. Gas source delivered through compressed gas cylinders h. Bi-directional control action with O2 gas infusion for raising O2 and nitrogen gas infusion for lowering O2. i. Bi-directional control action with CO2 gas infusion for raising CO2 and nitrogen gas infusion for lowering CO2. j. Graphical trending and data logging capabilities 2. System Chamber with the following requirements: a. Enclosure with a polycarbonate and stainless steel construction for durability and corrosion resistance b. Enclosure is compatible with the gas controller listed above c. Enclosure with 2 shelves, each shelf has a minimum dimension of 12.75" W 10.25" D d. Enclosure dimensions are no larger than 14"W x 13"D x 6"H e. Enclosure protects samples of interest from room air exposure/environmental instability and permits the precise control of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas concentrations f. Enclosure fits within most third-party incubators 3.0 Requested Information (Capability Statement) Interested parties are requested to submit a Capability Statement demonstrating their ability to fulfill this requirement. Please include the following information structured in your response: 1. Corporate Profile - Company Name, Address, CAGE Code, UEI Number, and Point of Contact (Name, Phone, Email). 2. Business Size - Business size standard and socioeconomic status under NAICS 339112. 3. Technical Capability - A brief description of the hyperbaric chamber(s) your company manufactures or distributes that meet or exceed the requirements in Section 2.0. Include spec sheets if available. 4. Past Performance - Examples of prior government or commercial contracts for similar hyperbaric systems (include contract numbers, scope, and value). 5. Supply Chain / Lead Time - Estimated manufacturing and delivery lead time from date of contract award. 6. GSA / GWAC Vehicles - Identify if your product is available on a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) or other existing government-wide acquisition contracts. 4.0 Response Instructions Responses must be submitted via email to the Contracting Office Point of Contact (POC) listed below.
