CoCR Powder Study Service Serv_C25-072
Summary
AI-generated · Aug 23, 2025Machining, testing, and sample preparation services are sought for additively manufactured CoCr samples supplied by the 76th CMXG, covering both fatigue and tensile programs. For fatigue (616 samples total), the contractor must machine the parts (turn, grind, and polish) per P01AD003 and test them per ASTM E606 and E466 at room temperature, with strain rate to be provided per sample and starting frequency of 0.5 Hz (rising to as high as 9 Hz after 24 hours once hysteresis loops stabilize). Geometry must follow the specified drawings, with the 616 samples allocated across three drawing sets (440, 88, and 88).
For tensile testing (264 samples), the contractor must machine (turn and grind) per P01AD003 and test per ASTM E8 at room temperature, with geometry per the applicable drawing. Required data include UTS, 0.2% yield strength, elongation (4D), and reduction of area. Waivers may be issued for grip design with prior approval, provided the design intent of P01AD003 remains satisfied, and threads must be ground to meet the standard. This is a Firm Fixed Price effort, with proposals submitted electronically. SAM registration is required to receive an award, and no telephone requests are accepted.
The Air Force is looking for sources to complete the following service: Contractor shall provide Testing, Evaluation, Machining and Sample Prep for the following Samples. Fatigue Samples: 616 Additively manufactured CoCr LCF samples supplied by the 76th CMXG must be machined (turned, ground and polished) per P01AD003 and tested IAW with ASTM E606 and ASTM E466 to the following test parameters: Strain Rate = As Specified by customer on a per sample bases (matrix linking serial numbers to strain rates to be supplied at a later date) Starting Frequency = 0.5Hz; frequency may be increased to 9Hz after 24hrs, and hysteresis loops stabilize. Temp = Room Temp Specimen geometry = Per drawings 202320497 (440 samples) and 202320495 (88samples) and 202320499 (88 samples) Tensile Samples: 264 Additively manufactured CoCr tensile samples supplied by the 76th CMXG must be machined (turned and ground) per P01AD003 and tested IAW ASTM E8 with the following test parameters: Temp = Room Temp Specimen geometry = Per drawing 202320493 Report UTS, 0.2%YS, %EL (4D) and %RA Waivers may be issued for the grip design on fatigue and tensile samples with prior approval from 76th CMXG/REACT and confirm that it meets the design intent of P01AD003. Specimen threads must be ground to meet the requirements of P01AD003, regardless of drawing allowances. Gauge sections shall meet the requirements of the referenced drawings and the requirements of P01AD003, no exceptions allowed. A Firm Fixed Price type contract is contemplated. System for Award Management (SAM) is required to receive any award. Contractors can register electronically at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541380 with a size standard of $19M. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting a proposal. Electronic procedures will be used for this solicitation through Beta.sam.gov at https://sam.gov/content/home. No telephone requests. See Note 22. Authority is 10 USC 2304 (c)(1).
