This Sources Sought notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 206.302-1(d). The Naval Air System Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Incentive Firm modification to Contract N0001912C0047 to Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, for the procurement of assistance in conducting the airworthiness validation process and Aircraft Inspection Discrepancy Reports for the CH-53K Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) aircraft. This includes providing engineering data requirements, operating limitations and restrictions for Lot 5 and 6 LRIP configurations, and all other necessary data. This procurement will be awarded in a sole source basis to Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, and Sikorsky has been the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the CH-53K aircraft. As such, Sikorsky is the only responsible source that possesses the technical data and requisite knowledge required to meet the Government s requirement. THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. No solicitation will be available for this procurement.
