Summary

AI-generated · Aug 27, 2025

Provide capability statement showing ability to deliver the Carbon Dioxide Removal by Ionic Liquid System for Mobility (CDRILS-M) for NASA’s Mars Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (mxEMU). The system must provide continuous CO2 and humidity control using a liquid sorbent, enabling non-venting EVA capability, trace contaminant removal, and improved serviceability, and must integrate with the vehicle’s Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) to improve mission efficiency and reduce maintenance. A sole-source award to a known source is being considered, but capable industry partners, including small businesses of all socioeconomic categories, are encouraged to respond.

In your capability statement, describe how you can meet the requirement and provide at least one past performance reference demonstrating experience with a similar level of complexity and magnitude.

NASA is currently seeking industry partners who are capable of providing the following requirement: The Carbon Dioxide Removal by Ionic Liquid System for Mobility (CDRILS-M) is being developed for NASA's Mars Exploration Extravehicular Mobility Unit (mxEMU) to provide continuous CO2 and humidity control using a liquid sorbent, which offers non-venting EVA capability, trace contaminant removal, and improved serviceability. This system aims to integrate with the vehicle's Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) to enhance mission efficiency and reduce maintenance requirements. The requirement is being considered for a sole source award to a known source; however any protentional capable industry partners are encouraged to respond with a capability statement. NASA is particularly interested in hearing from small businesses of any socioeconomic catagory.
