Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) Instrument NB645030-25-01696
Summary
AI-generated · Aug 24, 2025Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) Analysis Instrument from AB Sciex is being procured to support the analytical characterization and ongoing longitudinal evaluation of RM8671 (NISTmAb), a monoclonal antibody reference material used as a standard to develop new analytical platforms and push the limits of emerging technologies in biomanufacturing. The instrument will facilitate regular assessments of RM8671’s quality and enable reporting of any changes in its physicochemical properties to stakeholders.
This is a sole-source action under FAR 8.405-6 with AB Sciex, reflecting a brand-name requirement to ensure compatibility and continuity in evaluating the NISTmAb reference material.
FBO ANNOUNCEMENT: PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE, NOTICE OF INTENT ACTION CODE: SPECIAL NOTICE CLASSIFICATION CODE: 66 Instruments and Laboratory Equipment SUBJECT: Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) Analysis Instrument SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB645030-25-01696 DESCRIPTION: The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 8.405-6 with AB Sciex, located in Redwood City, California for a CE Analysis Instrument. Sole Source justification is based on the following: NISTs Biomolecular Structure and Function (BSF) group within the Biomolecular Measurement Division within the Materials Measurement Laboratory (MML) released RM8671 (NISTmAb), a monoclonal antibody reference material generated from a mouse cell line which, represents the largest class of protein therapeutics currently on the market. NISTmAb is used across the biomanufacturing industry as a standard for developing new analytical platforms and challenging the limits of new technologies. Prior to its release NISTmAb was throughly characterized using a number of analytical methods. In order to make this reference material longitudinally available, the quality of the material continues to be evaluated at regular intervals so that any changes in the material s physicochemical properties can be reported to stakeholders.
