Summary

AI-generated · Aug 26, 2025

Renewal and upgrade of Materialise software licenses to support medical modeling for 3D printing: Materialise Mimics v26 (base, analysis, design modules) and Materialise Magics v28.01 (with Build Processors and support modules: EOS Plastics, SG+, Trumpf, Magics RP, HP, plus Import, Nester, and Structures). Licenses include one floating license for each Mimics module and one for each Magics module listed, along with upgrades and technical support to segment CT/MRI images into patient-specific anatomical models and to generate printer-ready build files. The contract is anticipated as firm-fixed-price, and the procurement was positioned as a sole-source action with a capability-statement deadline for other interested parties; responses would determine whether competition would be pursued.

New information shows a formal award to Materialise USA LLC for approximately $70,062 under a firm-fixed-price arrangement, confirming the contract was issued to the same vendor after the sole-source justification process. The earlier notice indicated sole-source intent and an evaluation of capabilities statements, but no competing bids were received; the government ultimately awarded to Materialise USA LLC.

Notice of Intent to Sole Source Materialise Software Contact VA-25-00060402 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c) (1) - FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to MATERIALISE USA LLC. to provide software license renewal for Materialise Magics version 28.01 and Mimics version 26, upgrades, and technical support for prepping parts and builds to send to various printer, and to segment medical imaging to create medical models for patients. The Mimics software shall include the base, analysis, and design modules. The base module allows the user to segment the desired anatomy of a patient Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan. The analysis module allows the user to compare the segmented parts to the original imaging to ensure the models are as accurate as possible to the patient s anatomy. The design module allows the user to cut and add pieces to the anatomical model to make a stand for the model, cut the model into parts to allow the end user to see all the anatomy they need, and any other additional parts that need to be added to the original model. The Magics software shall include the following modules: Build Processor EOS Plastics, SG+, Build Processor Trumpf, MAGICS RP, Build Processor HP, Import Module, Nester Module, Structures Module. These modules allow the Magics software to import all the parts that need to be printed; allows for final processing and changes to be made to the parts as needed; and creates the build file with the print instructions for the 3D printers.
