Summary

AI-generated · Feb 18, 2026

The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to Barry Davis Architects PC for construction period services to support Project 679-19-101, Correct Critical Access and ADA Deficiencies, Building 61, at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. The current design contract is complete but did not include construction period services, so the awarded CPS covers post-award engineering activities such as reviewing construction submittals, responding to RFIs, executing potential design changes, and attending site visits and construction-related meetings to ensure the design is properly carried out and the facility aligns with the original intent. The construction period will be 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

This is not a competitive procurement. SAM-registered firms may submit a capability statement explaining how they could operate in the same footprint as the AE designer and assume the associated liabilities, demonstrating how they would effectively perform the work. The government will decide whether to pursue competition based on market research of the responses; no reimbursements will be provided for responses. Responses were requested by February 4, 2026.
