Summary

AI-generated · Mar 09, 2026

A design-build roof replacement is being sought for Section A of Building 1130 at Shaw AFB. The contractor must provide full design, engineering, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to replace the roof down to the concrete deck (including the elevator shaft roof), repair deck spalls/cracks, and prepare the deck with a new air and vapor barrier and insulation for a retrofit standing-seam metal roof hugger system. The project calls for a new single-sloped hydrostatic standing-seam roof that drains toward the back of the building, without increasing the front parapet height, and includes demolishing the rear parapet to install an external drainage system while sealing/removing all existing drainage components.

Additional scope includes installing a two-ply cold-applied SBS modified bitumen system over the elevator shaft with new insulation, routing drainage to the new external system, and redesigning the drainage to handle a 100-year storm by removing 25 internal drains and sizing gutters and downspouts accordingly. The work also covers removing the penthouse roof access and unneeded penetrations, renovating openings to maintain stairs, fire rating, and operations, replacing parapet coping, extending vents and curbs, and installing a Horizontal Lifeline/Fall Protection System. Compliance with UFC 3-110-03, the Shaw AFB Design and Construction Guide, and attached specs is required, with minimal impact on the 24/7 mission-critical facility. Interested vendors should submit company information, capabilities statement, and a description of their ability to perform at Shaw AFB, including evidence of capability, CAGE/UEI, applicable NAICS, and how they would fulfill the work. Submissions should be via email with a subject line indicating this Sources Sought for B1130 Roof Replacement.
