From Sources Sought posted on Feb 20, 2026This posting constitutes a presolicitation notice of a proposed contract action. The Social Security Administration (SSA or agency) intends to issue a public announcement for architect-engineer (A-E) services on or around 5/1/2026 (but may do so at any date 15 days after posting of this notice). SSA will use the procedures described at FAR part 36 for selecting an A-E firm. The agency intends to award a single indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with a one-year base and four (4) one-year options. The estimated maximum value of the resulting IDIQ contract is $60 million. The public announcement will be unrestricted and all responsible qualified business concerns will be eligible to submit a response. The required A-E services include pre-design, site analysis, schematic design, design development, construction documents, post-construction inspection, verification and certification, preparation of detailed construction cost estimates and construction administration services. Design development services include but are not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, landscaping, interior design/space layout and project development scheduling. Some of the disciplines required are Project Manager, Architect, Space Planner, Cost Estimator, Draftsperson, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, Fire Safety Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Interior Designer, Landscape Architect, Site Planner, Construction Manager, Ergonomist, Plumber, and Program Manager. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit are required. SSA requires these services on a nationwide basis. However, a significant amount of effort will need to be performed in the Baltimore metropolitan area.
