Background: The Sheridan VAHCS transports large laundry totes around the facility to the laundry plant at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. The new vehicle that only consists of a cab and chassis. The Sheridan VAHCS will need to purchase a cargo box and lift gate separately from the cab & chassis. The statement of work covers the requirements for the cargo box and lift gate. 2. Specifications: The cargo box and lift gate shall have the following specifications: The cargo box shall be painted white. Shall be sheet and post construction. Sheet panels shall be a minimum of 0.04 aluminum panels riveted to galvanized posts on 2 centers. Shall have a heavy-duty front 12 with a minimum 0.09 aluminum radius. The roof shall be a minimum of 0.40 aluminum. The cargo box shall have an overall 96 wide body. The cargo box shall have an inside height of 85.5 and a maximum outside height of 91.25 . The cargo box shall have a composite roll-up rear door, with dual spring operation and 2 rollers. The rear frame shall be 12-gauge stainless steel with internal L gussets at all four corners. The rear frame shall have a stainless-steel bottom plate. The understructure shall consist of 4 long sills and 60,000 psi 3 steel I-beams cross sills on 12 centers. The floor shall be made of 1-1/8 laminated hardboard fastened with a minimum of 2 screws per board per sill and shall be undercoated. The interior of the cargo box shall be lined with A-C grade exterior 1/2 plywood liner, full height, on the front of the box, and 3/8 plywood liner, full height, on the sides. The inside of the cargo box shall have 2 rows of E track on each side of the box, recessed into the liner. The cargo box shall have an interior LED lighting activated by a recessed switch at the rear of the box. The cargo box shall have the required clearance lights, flush mounted LED, with a return ground wire and a sealed harness. The contractor shall also supply a 1300lb rated lift gate with a one-piece steel treadplate with a 35 loading depth + 6 taper. Lift style shall be parallel arm. The contractor shall provide all labor and shipping of needed materials and components to the contractor s installation facility. The contractor shall provide an installation facility within 2.5 hours travel distance of the Sheridan VA Medical Center. The contractor shall mount the cargo box and lift gate onto a VA supplied cab/chassis and shall ensure all items are operational and working properly and shall demonstrate this to the VA personnel that pickup the vehicle. The cab & chassis is a 2022 Ford F450 regular cab chassis with a cab to axle measurement of 84 . The contractor shall submit their proposed cargo box design with measurements to the VA prior to construction in order that proposed design can be checked against the requirements and the actual cab & chassis. 3. Warranty: The cargo box, lift gate and all associated systems shall have a minimum warranty of 1 year. 4. General: VA personnel will deliver the cab/chassis to a contractor identified installation facility within 165-mile radius of the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Contractor shall perform a full functionality test on the equipment to ensure that the equipment is working properly.
