Summary

AI-generated · Jun 24, 2026

Automated patient label printing and tracking for bedside specimen collection is required, including labeling and barcode printing tied to positive patient identification and interoperability with existing VA systems (VISTA/CPRS and the Laboratory Information System). The Lattice MediCopia system provides a mobile, integrated solution with handheld devices, scanners, and bedside printers to collect, label, and track specimens (e.g., blood, urine, stool, swabs). It is described as the VA TRM‑approved, fully compatible option that meets security, privacy, and interoperability standards (NIST, FIPS, HIPAA, VA Handbook 6500). Vendors must be OEMs or authorized dealers/resellers and show authority documentation; Gray Market Items terms apply, and the specific items required are attached. There are no known alternatives that meet all requirements.

New information confirms a sole-source procurement to Lattice, Inc. for the Lattice MediCopia system serving VA San Francisco Health Care System, with the government evaluating whether to proceed with a sole-source award. A formal solicitation will be posted to beta.sam.gov, and all responsible sources may submit capability statements; responses must demonstrate compliance with Gray Market Clauses, or risk disqualification. The solicitation emphasizes strict adherence to security, privacy, and interoperability standards and that participation is limited to the specified OEM/authorized channels.
