This protein analyzer system and associated reagents and consumables is for the performance of Serum and Urine Free Kappa and Free Lambda Light Chain Testing, to include reagent kits, calibrators, quality controls, diluents, wash solutions, sample cups, cuvettes, and any associated analyzer maintenance items as well as analyzer service and support. The analyzer and testing methodology must perform both Serum and Urine Free Light Chain Assays, be capable of detecting antigen excess, be capable of automatically diluting specimens to end results, and meet the performance characteristics for accuracy and precision as defined by the 1988 Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) The reagents must be FDA approved for the diagnosis and monitoring of plasma cell dyscrasias. The contractor will perform set up and validation of the analyzer and assist with establishing an interface connection with the VA laboratory information system (VistA). In addition, the contractor will provide hands on instruction to train two key operators in the use, maintenance and routine troubleshooting of the proposed analyzer. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
