This Sources Sought is Brand Name or Equal. The response shall include product part number, delivery, and support as listed in the Description/Itemization above. All interested firms must be registered in SAM (System for Award Management) to be eligible for the award of Government contracts. Interested parties responding to this Sources Sought request shall submit the following information at a minimum: Company name and address point of contact with phone number and SAM UEI. Documentation relating to capability of performance, including installation in a hospital environment, training, and a current point of contact and phone number). The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Thomas Scientific, LLC, to deliver AlteCap Swift Automated Decapper System and provide on-site installation to VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plain Campus. The vendor, a SB, is the U.S. authorized distributor for OEM, AltemisLab s full line of products. This will replace existing laboratory equipment due to current models reaching their operational lifespan and no longer being manufactured. This decapper system supports the existing labware of the laboratory. Since the intent is to procure this on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to Contracting Opportunities on SAM.gov. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1-1 Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS is 334516.
