Summary

AI-generated · Jan 23, 2026

Urgent replacement of surgical lights in four operating rooms (ORs 1, 2, 5, and 6) at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in East Orange is required because the current lights are non-operational, aging, and pose infection control risks due to paint deterioration. The outages are affecting in-house procedures, pushing cases to Community Care and impacting patient care and costs; the goal is to restore full OR functionality and maintain sterile environments.

Provide deinstallation of existing lights and installation of a new surgical lighting system (Brand Name: Hillrom TruLight 5500 or equal) with all required labor, tools, and materials, including disposal of old equipment and packing waste (white-glove delivery and trash removal). The system must meet or exceed salient characteristics (LED dual lamphead, high-intensity illumination, long LED life, adjustable light field, high color rendering, sterile disposable handle covers, shadow reduction, integrated wall control, double-arm mounting, wall mounting kit, IEC 60601 compliance, minimum 5-year LED warranty). Installation includes on-site staff training and delivery of documentation and warranty information. The vendor will attach to existing mounting systems; low-voltage wiring for wall controls is included, but electrical work beyond low-voltage and any structural modifications are not within scope. Deliverables are a fully operational lighting system in all four ORs, with old equipment removed and waste disposed, and installation/verification documentation. Timeline requires at least 2 rooms delivered and installed within 4 weeks of award, with the remaining 2 completed within 12 weeks (total delivery and installation target: 60 days).
