This announcement constitutes the only Notice of Intent (NOI) to Sole Source (SS) and synopsis of proposed action. The Department of Veterans Affairs Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) Network Contracting Office (NCO) 16 intends to issue and award a Sole Source single award Firm-Fixed Price type contract order with a performance period of 60 days after date of award to SIEMENS MEDICAL SOLUTIONS USA, INC. located at 221 Gregson Drive, Cary, NC 27511, for Siemens Foresight FRU Detector at the MEDVAMC, located at 2002 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030. Based on our initial market research and due to proprietary concerns, we have found that only one reputable source can provide the equipment listed below with installation. The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price single award. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition as implemented by FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)(B): Only one awardee is capable of providing the supplies or services required at the level of quality required because the supplies or services ordered are unique or highly specialized.
